Foreign demand climbs, Brazil's beef exports up
‌

Foreign demand for Brazilian beef soars

This Thursday (30) in your ANBA Bulletin: overseas demand for beef from Brazil is going up, with China leading the way. Minerva Foods, the biggest meat exporting company in South America, saw its exports climb 16% in the second quarter, driven by Asia, while Middle East sales declined.

Only 1,000 people – all of them Saudi residents – have been allowed to perform the Hajj this year. Those doing the pilgrimage to Mecca had to get tested for Covid-19 and get their temperatures taken. They were also required to quarantine, wear face masks and keep apart from one another throughout the five-day religious event.

You will also meet the Brazilian Egyptologist Thais Rocha, who holds a doctoral degree from the University of Oxford and studies households in Ancient Egypt. She has looked into the notion of 'home' in worker villages and joined fieldwork at Amarna, where public spaces were also regarded as dwelling.
