This Monday (5) in your ANBA Bulletin: Egyptian company GMS Trade, an exporter of essential oils, medicinal and aromatic herbs, and parent company of the Galileo brand, participated in the APAS Show in São Paulo in May and wants to sell to the Brazilian market, which is seen as promising due to the local production of cosmetics and food.
Saboaria Rondônia produces natural and sustainable cosmetics from the fruits of Amazonian rainforest. Inputs are extracted by women from rural communities. The brand has already exported and intends to sell to the Arab market.
Arab Brazilian Chamber of Commerce representatives attended appointments last week in Foz do Iguaçu. Executives of the institution fulfilled a schedule of events with the purpose of helping the city develop family and Muslim-friendly tourism.

The secretary-general & CEO of the Arab Brazilian Chamber of Commerce (ABCC), Tamer Mansour, attended appointments in Foz do Iguaçu, Paraná, from May 31 to June 1. The executive’s trip was made at the invitation of the city government, which hosted the Falls Festival this week. Mansour attended the event’s opening and met with local and national authorities.

The recent trip of the president of the Republic of Brazil to the United Arab Emirates shed light on the development of an important Brazilian trade relation. As reported by the Brazil-Arab News Agency (ANBA), following a series of years of steady growth, in 2022, Brazil-Arab League trade reached its highest level: USD 32.78 billion. The magnitude of this relationship also adds to the importance of an impending change in the law that will particularly affect the Brazilian trade with the UAE, Oman, and Bahrein.

Jordan’s Crown Prince Hussein bin Abdullah married Saudi architect Rajwa Al Saif on Thursday in a wedding attended by royals from across the globe. The ceremony took place in the mid-century Zahran Psaudalace in the capital Amman – the scene of other key Hashemite kingdom weddings including that of king Abdullah II to queen Rania and also that of the monarch’s father, the late King Hussein bin Talal.

Brazil’s GDP up 1.9% in Q1

Brazil’s Gross Domestic Product (GDP) grew 1.9% in the first quarter of 2023 from the last three months of the previous year, reaching BRL 2.6 trillion (about USD 514 billion at the current rate). Data was released this Thursday (1) by the Brazilian Institute of Geography and Statistics (IBGE). Compared to the first quarter of last year, the Brazilian economy expanded by 4%. In the 12-month period, GDP has accumulated a 3.3% increase.
