This Wednesday (24) in your ANBA Bulletin: the Arab Brazilian Chamber of Commerce and the Brazilian Trade and Investment Promotion Agency (Apex-Brasil) held the promotional action Arab Halal Day during SIAL Paris, one of the biggest food industry shows in the world. Fairgoers in Paris, France sampled Brazilian halal beef barbecue and halal chicken shawarma (sandwich) in the pavilions of the Brazilian Meat Exporters Association (ABIEC) and the Brazilian Animal Protein Association (ABPA). Trading company Ramax struck meat export deals worth a combined BRL 10 million. “We had the privilege of engaging with new trade partners and the opportunity of doing business with clients from Iraq, Algeria and Palestine, all due to this event,” Ramax partner Radah Saleh (pictured above, on the right), a partner of the animal protein company, told reporter Thais Sousa. Also featured is the water, energy, technology and environment expo Wetex 2018 taking place this week in Dubai, the United Arab Emirates. Four Brazilian enterprises are exhibiting in a pavilion organized by the Arab Chamber: Ambev, with its Ama bottled water brand; the state-owned Energy Research Company (EPE); energy and gas company Hytron; and plastic piping and materials company Kanaflex. This is the first time Brazil joins the show held by the Dubai Energy & Water Authority (DEWA). “We expect to begin selling to this region starting with this event,” Kanaflex export manager Douglas Campos said. “We believe that Brazil is able to make a difference in this sector,” said Arab Chamber international business executive Rafael Solimeo. São Paulo – On Tuesday (23), visitors of SIAL Paris, one of the world’s main food products exhibition, were offered Brazilian barbecue, made with halal beef, and halal chicken shawarma (traditional Arab sandwich). The initiative was part of Arab Halal Day.

São Paulo – The Brazilian pavilion at WETEX 2018, the energy, water, technology and environment exhibition in Dubai, is hosting four Brazilian companies: Ambev’s AMA, for mineral water, the state-owned Energy Research Office (EPE), Hytron, for energy and gases, and Kanaflex, a pipes and plastics manufacturer.

São Paulo – Egypt’s Minister of Petroleum, Tarek El-Molla, announced that his country will hold the first bid round for oil and gas exploration in the Red Sea before the end of the year. The tender should be issued after the data processing of a seismic research on the area.

São Paulo – Construction of an ultrahigh speed transportation system in Abu Dhabi is set to begin in the third quarter of 2019, Gulf Business reported quoting the United States’ Hyperloop Transportation Technologies (HyperloopTT), which is handling the project. The company said this will be the first commercial hyperloop in the world.

São Paulo – Dubai-based port operator DP World reported, this Tuesday (23), a 2.6% container volumes growth in the year’s first nine months. The company handled a total of 53.6 million TEUs (twenty-foot equivalent units) across its global portfolio from January to September, against 52.2 million in the same months of 2017.
