Arab Chamber has gotten Arab members
The Arab Brazilian Chamber of Commerce has eight Arab members now. The Arab Brazilian Chamber launched an Arab corporate membership campaign in early August. Taiba Chicken became its first member from the United Arab Emirates and the contract was signed last Sunday (1st) at the Arab Brazilian Chamber international office in Dubai (pictured above). Brazilian peanut industry makes strides, focuses on quality

São Paulo – Amid mammoth crops in Brazil, like sugar and beef, peanuts are growing in relevance when it comes to agribusiness sales to Arab countries. Brazil is the second biggest peanut producer and exporter in Latin America. Last year saw 466,000 tons shipped abroad, trailing only Argentina, whose annual output is around 1 million tons.

Corn exports climbed, Egypt bought more

São Paulo – Brazilian corn exports climbed by almost 200% and Egypt was one of the countries whose purchases increased the most. Egypt was the top importer of Brazilian corn last month. Numbers from the Secretariat of Foreign Trade (Secex) show that Brazil grossed USD 1.3 billion in corn exports in August, up 181% from a year ago.

Syria’s tourism sector losses reach USD 2.3 trillion

Damascus – The losses caused by the war in Syria’s tourism sector stand at SYP 500 trillion (USD 2.3 trillion at the current exchange rate), the country’s minister of Tourism, Rami Radwan Martini, said this Monday (2) during a press conference for foreign reporters in Damascus. These include direct losses like the destruction of hotels, historical and religious sites and other material damages as well as indirect losses such as jobs and trade and services revenues.

Dubai’s GDP to pick up after 2018 slowdown

São Palo – Dubai’s Gross Domestic Product (GDP) growth is expected to pick up between 2019 and 2022 after a slowdown in 2018, ratings agency Standard & Poor’s (S&P Global Ratings) reported. The news come from the newspaper Arabian Business. Last year, Dubai economy grew by 1.94%.
