Parte da história do maior arquiteto do Brasil passa pela Argélia. Niemeyer desenhou diversos projetos para o país árabe, entre eles a Universidade Mentouri Constantine, em 1969. O trabalho foi um pedido pessoal do então presidente Houari Boumedienne. Hoje com 98 anos, Niemeyer disse, em entrevista à ANBA, que ainda tem na lista de amigos nomes como o do atual chefe de estado da Argélia, Abdelaziz Bouteflika.
Part of the history of the most important architect in Brazil involves Algeria. Niemeyer designed various projects for the Arab country, among them the Mentouri Constantine University, in 1969. The work was a personal request by then president Houari Boumedienne. Currently aged 98, Niemeyer said, in an interview to ANBA, that he still has many Arab friends, among them the current Algerian head of state, Abdelaziz Bouteflika.

The three main Brazilian markets abroad, the United States, Argentina and China, are going to grow in 2006, according to United Nations (UN) forecasts. The Chinese economy should grow 8.3% and the Argentine 6%. This expansion is favourable to Brazilian exports, mainly those of ores and agricultural products.

In the last article about biodiesel, ANBA shows the advancement made in the research for the use of the clean fuel in aeroplanes, automobiles and agricultural machinery. In the United States, an important step was recently taken to replace the Jet A fuel, used in aircraft, for a mixture that uses 40% soy oil and 60% of the fossil fuel.
In the second article in the series about biodiesel, ANBA shows how the clean fuel is changing the face of some cities in the Northeast and North of the country. The city of Canto do Buriti, in the northeastern state of Piauí, and Moju, in the northern state of Pará, gained new colour with the arrival of the castor seed and oil palm plantations, respectively. The crops feed the biodiesel mills that are expanding in the region.

Starting today, ANBA will be publishing a series of articles about the production of biodiesel in Brazil. Currently, six mills are in operation and production this year should reach 176,000 tonnes, according to figures supplied by the National Petroleum Agency (ANP).
