São Paulo – The minister of Development, Industry and Foreign Trade, Miguel Jorge, will be the official representative of the Brazilian government in the second meeting of Arab and South American ministers of the Economic area, to take place tomorrow (22) and Thursday (23) in Rabat, Morocco. The meeting is going to bring together representatives of 34 countries, 12 South American and 22 Arab. This information was disclosed by the Ministry of Development, Industry and Foreign Trade.
The meeting, to follow up on talks started at the Summit of South American – Arab Countries, which took place in Brazilian capital Brasília in May 2005, has as its main objective making use of the economic action plan based on commercial promotion between both regions. The minutes also include investment, exchange of data and development of aerial and maritime links.
During the Summit of South American – Arab Countries investment opportunities, trade flow, infrastructure and economic cooperation between both regions were discussed.
Last year, Brazilian exports to the 22 Arab countries generated US$ 6.7 billion.
