Dubai – The food and beverage show Gulfood, whose 27th edition is occurring from February 13 to 17 in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, features the participation of 94 Egyptian companies, distributed in five different pavilions.
Gulfood is the biggest show in the Middle East and the second-largest in the world in the segment, with around 4,000 exhibitors from 120 countries distributed in 21 pavilions and over 150 speakers,100 award-winning chefs, and company and government heads.
Egyptian companies participating in the show are members of the Export Council for Food Industries and the Agricultural Crop Export Council.
They were divided into five showrooms due to the diversity of products. The Sheikh Maktoum Room is the main one and home to the most extensive number of Egyptian companies. Room 3 features beef and poultry, Room 2 comprises dairy and its subproducts, Room Zabeel 2 contains beverage and juice companies, and Zabeel 4 has companies operating in the grain and pulses sector.
Egypt was one of the first countries to participate in Gulfood Dubai and has continued to do so for over 20 years straight, with the presence of the North African country’s best food exporting companies. The UAE market is one of the most significant importers of Egyptian food products.
Egyptian food industry exports reached around USD 4.1 billion in 2021, with a growth rate of 19% and USD 644 million compared to 2020 exports, which stood at roughly USD 3.45 billion.
