São Paulo – An agreement to develop projects to facilitate trade between Brazil and African countries was signed this Tuesday (10th), in Geneva, Swiss. The memorandum was signed by the Secretariat for Foreign Trade (Secex) of the Ministry of Development, Industry and Foreign Trade (MDIC), Brazilian Export and Investment Promotion Agency (Apex-Brazil) and the International Trade Centre (ITC). This Tuesday the international organization celebrated its 50 year anniversary.
For the cooperation, the experience of developing the program will be shown in the Unified Foreign Trade Portal (Portal Único de Comércio Exterior), of the Brazilian government, coordinated by Secex and the Brazilian Federal Revenue. "Brazil will lead the implementation of measures to facilitate trade as seen in Bali,” said the Foreign Trade secretary of the MDIC, Daniel Godinho, who was in the meeting. Godinho was referring to the agreement signed by the countries members of the World Trade Organization (WTO), last December in Indonesia.
The Brazilian program stipulated actions to reduce bureaucracy and time spent to perform export and import operations. According to the agreement signed with the ITC, technical support will be supplied through Brazilian specialists and workshops and seminars on measures to facilitate trade to be held in the African countries.
