São Paulo – The index of Families’ Consumption Intentions in the city of São Paulo scored 113.6 points in May, the lowest ever, according to the Federation of Commerce of Trade in Goods, Services and Tourism of the State of São Paulo (FecomercioSP). The index was down 5.1% in May from April.
According to FecomercioSP, the main contributing factor was the socioeconomic factor, with low growth rates and persistent inflation. All segments covered by the index have declined, highlighting professional perspectives, durable goods and consumption perspectives. May-on-May, the decline was even higher, at 11.4%.
