São Paulo – Sixty-plus Brazilian business executives came together this Monday (23) for a matchmaking session held by the Brazilian Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock and Supply and the embassy of the United Arab Emirates in Brasília. The event is part of the Brazil-United Arab Emirates Agribusiness Investor Road Show. It was designed to bring Brazilians and Arabs together, and is expected to lead to future deals.
The Emirati mission arranged by Abu Dhabi’s Food Security Center is currently in Brazil for several visits and meetings targeting the agriculture and livestock industry. The twelve participating UAE entrepreneurs in agribusiness industry subsectors such as infrastructure, animal protein and assorted investments.
Arab Brazilian Chamber of Commerce special projects advisor Tamer Mansour, who attended the event in Brasília, told ANBA that the Abu Dhabi executives started the day with a morning tour of Brasília. Before sitting down for the business matchmaking session, they watched presentations by the Ministry’s International Relations secretary Odilson Ribeiro and by the UAE ambassadress to Brasília, Hafsa Al Ulama.
The Monday meeting was the Abu Dhabi delegation’s first in Brasília. They will remain in the city until Wednesday (25) to convene with ministers and other authorities, in addition to visiting the Brazilian Agricultural Research Corporation (Embrapa).
From Brasília, the group will head for Mato Grosso state capital Cuiabá, where they’ll meet with governor Pedro Taques, as well as visit agricultural companies including Amaggi and Grupo Bom Futuro. They’ll keep appointments over three days in the state before moving on to São Paulo, where they are scheduled to pay visits to authorities.
According to Mansour, a matchmaking session is also in the plans for São Paulo, in a yet-to-be-chosen site. “The role of the Arab Brazilian Chamber is to help bring Brazilian businessmen closer to their Arab counterparts, and to build closer connections between both sides,” he said.
