Abu Dhabi – Non-oil trade in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates amounted to AED 12.4 billion (USD 3.375 billion) in January, Emirates News Agency (WAM) reported this Thursday (26), quoting the Abu Dhabi Statistics Centre.
Exports grossed AED 2 billion (USD 544 million), up 33% year-on-year. Imports amounted to AED 8.6 billion (USD 2.341 billion), down 30.6%. Re-exports reached AED 1.733 billion (USD 472 million).
Industrial goods made up the bulk of foreign sales and over 40% of foreign purchases. Re-exports consisted primarily of transportation material.
Saudi Arabia was the biggest destination for Abu Dhabi exports, with most of re-exports going to China. The United States was the emirate’s primary supplier.
