São Paulo – Etihad Airways, the airline based in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates, is recruiting captains and first officers for the Airbus A320 aircraft in São Paulo. The company does not disclose the number of available positions but says on its website that the roles are intended for professionals “based in the São Paulo region” and mentions that recruitment processes in other locations will open soon.
Etihad previously had direct flights between Abu Dhabi and Guarulhos Airport in São Paulo but discontinued the route in 2017. Led by Brazil’s Antonoaldo Neves, the airline is expanding its flight offerings, particularly to Europe, the Middle East, Asia, and North Africa.
Among the announced vacancies, the company offers captains an annual salary of USD 171,589 based on 75 flight hours per month, in addition to benefits. The minimum requirements include at least 5,500 flight hours, with a minimum of 1,500 hours in command of the aircraft. For first officers, or copilots, a total of 2,500 flight hours are required, including 500 hours on one of the A320 family aircraft, which are used for short-haul routes. The offered salary is USD 138,318 based on 75 flight hours per month, along with benefits.
