São Paulo – The Arab Brazilian Chamber of Commerce should receive José Augusto de Castro, acting president of the Brazilian Foreign Trade Association (AEB), on April 17th. He will give talk “Perspectives for Global and Brazilian Foreign Trade”. The event is open to associates and non-associates of the Arab Brazilian Chamber and it should take place from 9:00 am to 12:00 pm. Registration is open and may take place up to the 13th.
“He is a renowned expert in foreign trade. We invited him to speak about Brazil’s global trade as viewed by the AEB”, said Michel Alaby, CEO at the Arab Brazilian Chamber. “He will cover topics like the European crisis, emerging markets, including China, India, Africa and the Middle East, as well as commenting on measures for stimulation of Brazilian foreign trade announced [by the government] last week,” finished off the CEO.
Castro said to ANBA that he will give a general presentation on Brazilian exports over the last ten years “and also on trade between Brazil and the Arab countries over the last decade”.
“Trade between Brazil and the Arab countries is greatly concentrated on commodities, both on exports and on imports. This results on trade depending much more on market conditions than on relations between the countries. If there was greater trade of manufactured products, it would depend more on products than on the market,” said Castro.
Another focus of the talk, according to the acting president at AEB, will be the markets in China, the United States and the European Union.
