São Paulo – Agribusiness exports from Brazil fetched USD 7.25 billion in February, up 15.6% year-on-year, the Brazilian Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock and Supply reported this Monday (18). Shipped volume was up 20.8%, while average price of products shipped slid by 4.3%.
The Ministry pointed out that soybean, bran and oil sales grossed USD 2.58 billion, exceeding the USD 2 billion mark for the first time.
Meat exports came out to USD 1.17 billion, up 4.8% year-on-year, with shipped volume at 520,000 tons. Coffee sales also climbed, by 10.4% to USD 452.3 million.
Out of the main product categories exported from Brazil, forest products and sugar/ethanol sales eased.
Year-to-date through February, agribusiness exports reached USD 13.8 billion, up 10.9% from a year ago.
