São Paulo – Agribusiness exports from Brazil grossed USD 8.17 billion in September, down 4.5% year-on-year, the Brazilian Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock and Supply reported this Wednesday (10).
The drop was driven by weaker exports of sugar/ethanol and cereals, flours and their products, the Ministry said. Exports climbed for soybeans, bran and oil and forest products. Meat exports also climbed, albeit by a lesser rate.
Year-to-date, exports reached USD 76.66 billion, up 3.6% year-to-date through September from a year ago.
