São Paulo – The Brazil-Arab News Agency (ANBA) starts publishing articles this Wednesday (2) on its website. The agency will have a specific section for the regular publication of texts by diplomats, executives, experts and spokespeople of associations and organizations focusing on the main topics addressed by the agency.
ANBA specializes in covering relations between Brazil and the Arab countries; it was created by the Arab Brazilian Chamber of Commerce (ABCC) in 2003 to fill a communication gap between Brazil and the Arab world and collaborate in expanding knowledge between regions, especially in the economic field. It is the only Brazilian vehicle dedicated exclusively to covering these relations with Portuguese, English, and Arabic editions.
“It is another channel for diplomatic bodies, professional associations, and business people to share their experiences, opening dialogues on new topics between Brazil and the Arab world,” says the secretary-general at the ABCC, Tamer Mansour. He points out that ANBA is an online vehicle, and this media format has been gaining relevance. “The agency has an opinion-forming role in the relationship between Brazil and the Arab countries,” he says.
The articles will cover overviews of the world economic scenario of Arab countries and Brazil, subjects related to foreign trade and topics of interest to exporting companies, matters of culture and society related to the international or Brazilian relationship with the Arab world. Press officers are invited to send article suggestions from their clients.
The section opens with two articles, one by the head of the Arab League mission in Brazil, Qais Shqair, on economic diplomacy. The second text is written by the Master in communication and author of books on internationalization, Rodrigo Solano. The theme aimed at exporters is the human aspect of internationalization.
ANBA has agreements to share content with ten Arab news agencies. Its professionals have won 11 journalism awards. In October 2020, the agency launched its podcast, ANBA Cast, which is available on audio platforms. ANBA has about 160,000 pageviews monthly, and an average of 40% hits outside Brazil. Its team consists of three journalists, two English translators, and two Arabic translators.
