São Paulo – Twelve new books containing market information on the Arab countries are available to investors and the general public for consultation, at the Commercial Knowledge Center, of the Arab Brazilian Chamber of Commerce. The center, open to consultation by the community, brings together publications on Arab countries.
The new books were produced by the Oxford Business Group, a British organization that operates in over 30 countries worldwide, focusing mainly in the Middle East, Africa, Asia, Eastern Europe and the Caribbean.
The publications are mainly targeted at investors who need to find business opportunities in the Arab countries. The information also provides a basis for consultation by the Arab Brazilian Chamber’s Marketing Development department, which supplies them to the companies that seek its advisory.
According to Rodrigo Solano, the Marketing Development manager of the Arab Brazilian Chamber, what attracts the most attention in the publications that have been receive is the approach divided by sectors. "The chapters show the direction in which the country’s economy is headed." The works contain political and macroeconomic analyses of each featured country, in addition to reviewing sectors such as banking, capital markets, tourism and education.
The works have been donated by the Oxford Business Group to the Arab Brazilian Chamber. There are volumes available on Bahrain, Egypt, Jordan, Oman, Syria, Kuwait, Tunisia, Qatar, Libya, and the emirates of Dubai, Abu Dhabi and Ras Al Khaimah. To Solano, the Oxford publications rank among "the best materials ever produced on the Arab countries."

Oxford Business Group
The Oxford Business Group researchers spend up to six month in each country, attending from 250 to 300 meetings with public and private sector leaders. According to Oliver Cornock, regional editor of the Oxford Business Group, the main feature sought in the countries researched is "commitment to attracting foreign investment and liberalizing the economy."
"We establish local partnerships in order to provide in-depth knowledge to the capital market, legal and accounting sectors," explains Cornock.
He also claims that one of the main features of the Oxford publications is that they contain interviews and points of view. "We publish contributions not only from local dignitaries, but also from prominent international figures, such as the former United States president Bill Clinton, the former United Nations secretary general Boutros-Boutros Ghali, the sultan of Brunei, and the guardian of two holy mosques, king Abdullah Bin Abdulaziz, of Saudi Arabia.”
Oxford also offers works on Lebanon, Libya, Morocco, Saudi Arabia and the emirates of Ajman and Sharjah, as well as other non-Arab countries.
