São Paulo – The CEO at the Arab Brazilian Chamber of Commerce, Michel Alaby, should give a talk to businessmen in Campinas who are interested in selling their products to the Middle East and North Africa. At event "How to trade with the Arab nations”, to take place on Thursday (14), Alaby should also speak about the Big 5, the main building sector fair in the region, to take place in Dubai late this year. The meeting begins at 5:30 pm at the offices of the Centre of Industries of the State of São Paulo (Ciesp).
The themes of the talk include the culture of the Arab nations and bureaucratic processes and documents necessary for operation in the Middle East. Alaby should dedicate most of his time to talking about the United Arab Emirates, especially Dubai. “Our proposal is to show how to negotiate with the Arab nations, but also to speak about the Big 5,” he said.
It is probable that this year a delegation of businessmen from Campinas and region participate in a trade delegation to the Big 5, to learn about the techniques and tendencies in the region and to make contact. This delegation may be extended to Abu Dhabi, the country capital. The idea arose in May. “We then suggested this talk to the Ciesp to motivate companies [to visit the fair],” said Alaby.
During the talk, businessmen will be presented the panorama of the region and will receive clues as to what to do and not to do on buying from and selling to businessmen from the region. “Negotiating with the Arabs is not the same as negotiating with the Americans or Europeans. First of all, Arabs need to feel confident and to establish friendship. Then they will feel free to close the deal,” said the CEO.
