São Paulo – Arab Brazilian Chamber of Commerce Tamer Mansour (pictured) delivered a lecture on “Trade relations: the footwear industry in Brazilian-Arab commerce” this Wednesday (2) at the Birigui Footwear and Clothing Industry Syndicate (Sinbi) in Birigui, São Paulo.
The event was attended by about 30 executives from footwear companies. Mansour went over business opportunities in the Arab world and the services on offer from the Arab Chamber. Birigui is considered Brazil’s premier industry cluster for children’s shoes.
“We discussed the footwear market in Arab countries and how the Arab Chamber can assist these companies with placing their products in shop windows throughout the Arab world. We provide customized consulting to streamline the entire internationalization process for anyone looking to export to Arab countries,” said Mansour.
“The Sinbi will be an exhibitor at the Brazil-Arab countries Economic Forum in April 2020, and the Chamber is planning to set up a temporary showroom of shoes and other products, at first in the UAE and Saudi Arabia,” he went on.
Arab Chamber Sales Executive Alberto Salgueiro spoke with the companies after the lecture and said many of them are willing to get memberships.
Year-to-date through August, USD 23.3 million worth of shoes got shipped from Brazil to Arb countries. The number is up 35.5% from last year, according to Arab Chamber figures.
