São Paulo – In a few months’ time, Arab chambers of commerce around the world should be able to rely on a single data- and information-sharing platform. This was one of the main subjects in the agenda at the meeting of the General Union of Chambers of Commerce, Industry and Agriculture for Arab Countries this Tuesday afternoon (3) at the offices of the Arab Brazilian Chamber of Commerce in São Paulo.
Arab Brazilian Chamber CEO Michel Alaby, who sat in the meeting, the idea is to have this online platform for all Union member chambers to get access to the shared data. “I will be the coordinator of this platform project. We will try to make it into a mobile app as well,” Alaby told ANBA after the meeting.
The Brazil-Arab Countries Economic Forum held by the Arab Brazilian Chamber on Monday (2) was also brought up at the meeting. “They said a lot about the forum and complimented its organization. They thanked the entire Arab Brazilian Chamber staff for its efforts in hosting the event,” Alaby said.
According to the CEO, it had been a long time since Brazil last hosted a General Union meeting. The next assembly is slated for May in Amman, Jordan.
