São Paulo – The 9th edition of the South American Festival of Arab-African Culture is underway in São Paulo and other cities, such as Curitiba and Santos. The event, organized by the Arab, African and South American Library and Research Center (BibliAspa), began on March 18 and runs until March 31.
The schedule includes exhibitions, movie screenings, debates, art and calligraphy workshops, reading sessions, lectures, storytelling, dance and music, among other attractions.
According to the organization, the festival’s aim is to “strengthen the ties between South America and the Arab countries based on the respect to cultural diversity and historical and social ties, plus encourage a culture of peace through bringing peoples together.”
