Arab descendants win traditional literature award in Brazil
Milton Hatoum, from the northern Brazilian state of Amazonas and Mamede Mustafa Jarouche, from the southeastern São Paulo, both sons of Lebanese, won the Jabuti Prize, the most traditional Brazilian literature award, in categories novel and translation, respectively. The former received the award for book "Cinzas do Norte" (Ashes of the Amazon) and the latter for his Portuguese translation of The Thousand and One Nights.
