São Paulo – The General Union of Arab Chambers of Commerce, Industry and Agriculture and the Council of Saudi Chambers will promote the Arab Private Sector Forum – Toward an effective private sector participation in Arab economic development and complementation initiatives, in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, on January 12 and 13. The event is held as a preparation for the Riyadh Economic Summit, held by the Arab League, and also due next month.
The forum will be attended by delegates from Arab chambers of commerce and economic development organizations. It is intended to set the private sector goals for the summit, listing them in a document to be handed in to the Arab leaders attending the governmental meeting, according to information from the General Union.
During the forum, the participants will be divided into workgroups focusing on different themes, and on the projects of the organizations in attendance, such as the Arab Industrial Development and Mining Organization, the Arab Center for the Studies of Arid Zones and Dry Lands, the Arab Organization for Agriculture Investment and Development, and the Arab Communication and Information Technology Organization.
The agenda should include topics such as trade-fostering initiatives and the setting up of centres for entrepreneurs at the Arab chambers of commerce.
