São Paulo – An event in São Paulo will raise funds for social actions in aid of Sudan. The Arte Expo Project will take place on Thursday (4) in Barueri, São Paulo, and is organized by artist Eliane Nunes and the Projeto Arte Alpha studio.
The occasion will feature postcards (pictured) inspired on Tela Caminhos by Eliane Nunes. The image is the same that illustrates the cover of the e-book Religião e conflitos no Sudão Contemporâneo: a experiência de Comboni na África e dos Combonianos no Brasil [Religion and Colonial Tensions in Sudan: The Experience of Don Comboni in Africa and the Comboni in Brazil] by professor Patrícia Teixeira Santos.
The scholar specializes in the study of the Sudanese history and will be at the event, where she’ll be present her e-book, launched earlier this year, and participate in a roundtable with Eliane Nunes.
Santos said the proceeds from the art sales will be donated to social actions by the Comboni Missionaries in Khartoum, the Sudanese capital, due to the political and humanitarian crisis the country has gone through. The Comboni, who’re part of the Catholic Church, are followers of Don Comboni, who lived and wrote letters about Sudan in the early nineteenth century. The group migrated from the Arab country to places like Brazil and spreads information on its projects in their official website.
