The construction work for the Syrian-Brazilian refinery is due to start in the beginning of next year, as the result of a partnership between the Brazilian Cristalsev, Cargill Africa, three Syrian companies and an international finance company. The refinery will process one million tonnes of raw sugar per year and will be located in the city of Homs.
