This statement was made by the Brazilian minister of Development, Industry and Foreign Trade, Luiz Fernando Furlan, yesterday, during a seminar that brought together Brazilian and Algerian businessmen in Algiers. The seminar is part of the activities of the Brazilian trade mission to the Arab country. Greater trade was also the main topic of the meetings that the minister had with Algerian authorities.

The agreement for cooperation signed by the Brazilian and Algerian oil companies in 2003 will start being put into practice in the near future. This was one of the decisions taken during a meeting between the minister of mines and energy of Brazil, Silas Rondeau, and his Algerian colleague, Chakib Khelil, yesterday, in Algiers. Rondeau is participating in a Brazilian trade mission to the Arab country, which includes around 50 companies and organizations.
The Arab Brazilian Chamber of Commerce and the Federation of Industries of the State of Paraná plan to organize a trade mission to the region next year. The initiative is part of the commemorations of the 20 years since the opening of the Arab Brazilian Chamber office in Paraná, which is run by Kamal David Curi.

The 25th National Foreign Trade Meeting (Enaex) is scheduled to begin on Wednesday.
