According to a research made by the Brazilian Micro and Small Business Support Service, the participation of non-traditional destinations in the shipments by micro sized companies went from 8% in 1998, to 12.4% in 2004. In the case of the small sized companies, the percentage increased from 7.5% to 11.2% in the same period. Of the 681 Brazilian companies that started exporting last year, 345 were small sized.

The project E-Blocks, by the company Positivo Informática, won the World Summit Award (WSA) in the category e-Learning. This places the pedagogical system, developed to teach English to children between 5 and 10 years old, amongst the 40 best multimedia works in the world. The prize giving will take place during the World Summit for the Information Society, in November in Tunisia.

Businessmen who participated at the fair in Dubai, which ended yesterday (15), in the United Arab Emirates, return to Brazil satisfied with the contacts made. One of the participating companies, the shoes manufacturer Sandálias Giovanna, sold 700 pairs of shoes to the Arabs. The stylist Leonardo Chiasso, who held fashion shows during the fair, sold 60 dresses during the event.
