São Paulo – The president of Brazil, Jair Bolsonaro, received this Friday (8) the new ambassador of Bahrain to the country, Bader Abbas Hasan Ahmed Alhelaibi, in a ceremony for the presentation of his credentials (pictured above). Alhelaibi already served in Brazil as chargé d’affaires of Bahrain’s diplomatic mission in Brasília and took over as ambassador. At the ceremony, new ambassadors from other countries also presented their credentials.
Usually, an ambassador takes office after presenting documents sent by the head of state of his country to the government of the country where he will act. The presentation of credentials to the president of the Republic is a formality that increases the prerogatives of the diplomat’s work in Brazil. If the president does not receive the credential, the ambassador cannot represent his country at official audiences or ceremonies.
