São Paulo – Beauty Fair, a beauty sector trade fair to be held between September 6th and 9th in the city of São Paulo, will have an exhibitor from Middle Eastern nation Bahrain. The company Syed Junaid Alam W.L.L. will be at the trade fair with plans to establish a distribution channel in the Brazilian market, according to the Beauty Fair commercial manager, Luis Malandrino. This is the first time the Arab company has participated in the fair, which is regarded as the second largest beauty sector fair in the world and the largest in Latin America, according to the manager.
The Bahraini company is a large-sized and traditional business in the segment. According to information from Sayed Junaid website, the company was founded in 1910 and currently features 110 perfumes in the catalogue. This year alone, 30 new perfumes were launched. According to Malandrino, the brand has some products aimed at exporting and others designed for the Arab market.
Bahrain is one of the ten countries which will display their products at the fair. Nations such as Poland, Pakistan, China, South Korea, France, United States and Turkey are also on this list. Poland, for instance, will a have a pavilion with ten companies, Chile will also have one with roughly 30 exhibitors, while France will have a pavilion with four companies and the United States will have seven companies at the fair.
According to Malandrino, there is a wide range of foreign products at the fair, from perfumes to SPA products, raw materials for the segment, hair dryers, and the like. By taking part in the Beauty Fair, the foreign companies mainly want to find distributors and dealers for their products in the Brazilian market, according to the commercial manager.
Beauty Fair also has many importers. Last year, the fair had 145,000 Brazilian and foreign visitors. A total of US$ 211.55 million (at current exchange rates) worth in deals are expected to be closed at the fair, an increase from the US$ 198.33 million worth transactions of last year’s edition. The fair also featured nearly 500 exhibitors displaying 1,000 brands in 2013.
The fair is not only an opportunity for business, it is also a place to learn and exchange experiences within the beauty segment. “It is a place for people to be inspired, updated, to learn more. Each segment represented in the fair has an educational event aimed at the improvement of these people," says Malandrino.
As a matter of fact, a business forum, a manicure congress, a hairdressing show, theoretical and practical workshops in different areas will be held at the fair. The fair is aimed at product launching, equipment and services in the areas of hairdressing, aesthetics, makeup, manicure, podology, massage therapy and beauty products retail business.
