Rio de Janeiro – Brazil entered the race to host the next FIFA U-20 World Cup in 2021 up against Indonesia, Peru and two joint applications: Myanmar/Thailand and Bahrain/Saudi Arabia/UAE.
The applications must be submitted before August 30. The announcement of the winner will be made in the next meeting of the FIFA Council in Shanghai, China, on October 23-24.
Having hosted the World Cup in 2014 and currently hosting the America’s Cup, Brazil will also host the U-17 World Cup from October 26 to November 17 this year. The country also applied to host the Women’s World Cup in 2023.
