Morocco, Algeria, and Egypt have advanced from the group stage to the knockout stage of the 2026 FIFA World Cup. Morocco has already secured a place in the Round of 16.
The teams played to a 1–1 draw in their first Group C match, held in New Jersey, United States.
Algeria, Egypt, Jordan, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Iraq, Tunisia and Morocco will represent the Middle East and North Africa in the tournament starting in June.
The team beat Bolivia 2–1 in the final playoff spot and will now face France, Senegal and Norway in Group I.

The match is for the title of the 2025 FIFA Intercontinental Cup. The Brazilian and Libertadores champion defeated an Egyptian team in the semifinals.
With both teams, next year’s tournament already has seven Arab countries confirmed. Iraq and the United Arab Emirates are still competing for a spot.
The Brazilian men’s soccer team will play against Tunisia in November in Paris in a friendly match. Both teams have already secured spots in the 2026 World Cup.
The Gulf country will host matches in the cities of Riyadh, Jeddah, Al Khobar, Abha, and Neom. The organization also announced Morocco as one of the host countries for the 2030 World Cup.
Three matches from the former FIFA Club World Cup are taking place in the Arab country from December 11 to 18. Whichever Brazilian team triumphs in Copa Libertadores, Atlético-MG or Botafogo, will be a contender.
The election of the next Women’s World Cup host country will occur in May 2024. Brazil competes with three other candidates.
In the International Football Federation’s latest men’s football rankings, Morocco appears as the best-placed Arab country, despite losing two positions. The Moroccans clinched fourth place at the 2022 World Cup.
The ceremony will take place in the presence of the FIFA’s president on May 14. The stadium will now be called Pelé International Stadium Al-Khader. The venue is near Bethlehem.
