The visit followed other steps Brazil is taking to strengthen ties with Bahrain. Last year, Brazilian president Jair Bolsonaro visited the Arab country and opened the Brazilian embassy in Manama. The Special Secretariat for Strategic Affairs of the Presidency of the Republic also carried out a mission to Bahrain during a trip to nine Arab countries.
