São Paulo – Companies from the perfumes and cosmetics sector from the United Arab Emirates are expanding their businesses to Brazil with the support of Dubai Exports. Since the opening of the agency’s office in São Paulo, nearly three years ago, at least four companies from the sector managed to make their products available to Brazilian consumers.
According to Bruno Bassi, the Dubai-based agency’s business development manager in Brazil, other ten companies from the sector already exported their products to Brazil and, thus, were able to increase them. “These are manufacturers of fragrances and cosmetics, such as deodorants, moisturizers and perfumes,” said the executive to ANBA.
A report produced by Dubai Exports in 2016 found out that the emirate’s sectors of fragrances, cosmetics and beauty products have a good exporting potential, which encouraged these companies to venture out in other markets. Brazil came up as a natural destination due to consumer demand.
“Indeed, Brazil is one of the markets that most consume cosmetics and beauty products,” said, in a statement released by Dubai Exports, the general manger of IFI Perfumes, Fuzail Ahmad. “The Dubai Exports’ foreign trade office helped many companies such as ours to enter and gain market share in Brazil, which is a leader in production and exports of cosmetics and beauty products.”
Bassi said that, for years now, Arab perfumes have been gaining market share in the Brazilian market. “The cosmetics and fragrances sector is truly the flagship, but we have already identified opportunities in the food products sector,” he said, mentioning the dates of Al Ain-based company Al Foah, which are being imported to the country since last year. According to him, soon other companies, suppliers of inputs to processed food, will be able to enter the Brazilian market with the support of the exports promotion agency from Dubai.
