São Paulo – The Arab Brazilian Chamber of Commerce (ABCC) will host the 1st Brazil-Palestine Business Webinar next Wednesday (23) to discuss potential partnerships and business opportunities between the two countries in the food and pharmaceutical sectors. The virtual event will feature Brazilian and Palestinian authorities; it will be in English with simultaneous translation into Arabic and Brazilian Portuguese. “It is an important seminar promoting not only the trade agenda but also cultural and social engagement between Palestine and Brazil. We hope that within this event we can discuss the growth of exports from Palestine to Brazil. In addition, we want to encourage Brazilian tourism companies to make specific travel packages to Palestine,” said the secretary-general of the ABCC, Tamer Mansour.
The opening will be made by the president of the ABCC, Osmar Chohfi, and the deputy assistant for Trade and Industry and Consumer Protection at the Palestinian Ministry of Economy, Manal Dasouqi.
An overview of trade relations between the countries will be given by the CEO at the Palestinian Investment Promotion and Industrial Estates Agency (PIPA), Haytham Wahidi; the Brazilian representative to the State of Palestine, Ambassador Alessandro Candeas; the Palestinian Ambassador to Brazil and dean of the Council of Arab Ambassadors in Brazil, Ibrahim Alzeben; and ambassador Osmar Chohfi.
The potential for partnerships and business in the health and food sectors between the countries will be presented by the president of the Federation of Palestinian Chambers of Commerce, Industry and Agriculture (FPCCIA), Omar Hashem; the president of the Palestinian Federation of Industries (PFI), Odeh Shehade; the chairman of the Palestinian Federation of Industries, Bassam Alwalweel; the Board member of the Palestine Trade Centre (PalTrade), and CCO of Al-Jebrini Dairy & Food Industry Company, Zayad Al-Jibrine; the president of the Palestine Trade Center (PalTrade), and Arafat Asfour; the president of the Palestinian Businessmen Forum (PBFORUM), Omar Osaily. The third part of the seminar will be a corporate roundtable featuring the president of the Brazilian Association of Food Industries (ABIA), João Dornellas; the president of the Brazilian Association of Pharmaceutical Inputs Industries (ABIQUIFI), Norberto Prestes; the executive director of Eurofarma, Walker Lahmann; the president of the Palestinian Food Industries Union (PFIU), Bassam Abu Ghalyuon; the president ofthe Palestinian Pharmaceutical Union, Rami Qotob; the economic analyst of the Economics and Development Section of São Paulo General Store and Warehouse Company (CEAGESP), Ubaldo Cardinali; the executive of the Pharmaceutical Ingredients Industry Association (ABIQUIFI), Carolina Sellani; the president of the Brazilian Association of Olive Oil Producers and Importers (OLIVA), Rita Bassi, and moderation of ABCC Business director Daniella Leite.
According to Tamer Mansour, the seminar will be an opportunity to invite the community, the ABCC Women’s Committee, WAHI – Women who Inspire, and the Arab House to enter the scope of cooperation between Brazil and Palestine. The Arab House is an institutional development center for relations between Arabs and Brazilians.
