São Paulo – Brazil participated in a show in the United Arab Emirates which focused on one of the great topics on the global agenda: Technology and the environment. The Technology and Environment Exhibition (WETEX), which took place together with the Dubai Solar Show, had a stand of Brazilian company WEG and was visited by representatives of the Brazilian Embassy to the UAE and the offices of the Brazilian Trade and Investment Promotion Agency (ApexBrasil) and Arab Brazilian Chamber of Commerce (ABCC) in the Gulf country. The show occurred from Tuesday (27) to this Thursday (29) in Dubai.
The chargé d’affaires of the Embassy of Brazil to the UAE, ambassador Eliana Zugaib; the minister counselor of the embassy, Leandro Vieira da Silva; the COO of ApexBrasil, Tatiana Riera; the Business analyst of ApexBrasil in the country, Antonio Braga; and the director of the ABCC international office in the UAE, Rafael Solimeo, visited the event. The group was welcomed by Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, director-general & CEO of the Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA), the state company holding the show, and Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum, CEO of the Emirates group.
Brazilians got to know the different spaces of the show and the wide range of solutions presented on energy, sustainability, and the environment, from greener energy sources to means of transportation with lower emissions. The group visited WEG’s booth. The Brazilian industry is a global reference in motors, generators, transformers, and electric drives. The visitors were received by the Marketing manager for Europe and the Middle East, Marek Lukaszczyk (participants pictured above).
Solimeo stated it is essential that Brazil, already known in the Arab world for its distinction in natural resources, also shows its work favoring technologies aimed at sustainability. The executive said the sector had gained relevance in the face of global efforts to transition to a world with fewer pollution emissions and more sustainable economies. According to Solimeo, the show reflects the Arab world’s concern regarding sustainability, which is part of the strategic development plans of countries like the UAE and Saudi Arabia.
