São Paulo – Representatives of the Brazilian plastics industry are discussing the sector’s global paths and trends from this Monday morning (7) to Thursday (10). The 2nd World Plastic Connection Summit is taking place in a hybrid format with the in-person event at the Blue Tree Premium Alphaville hotel, in the city of Barueri, in the São Paulo metropolitan area. B2Bs will be held between Brazilian industries and foreign buyers, and foreign press is covering the event.
This year’s theme is “Innovation, Design, and Sustainability as global differentiators in the Brazilian converted plastics sector.” The event is an initiative of Think Plastic Brazil; a program carried out by the Brazilian National Plastic Institute (INP) and the Brazilian Trade and Investment Promotion Agency (ApexBrasil) to boost the segment in international markets. The program encompasses manufacturers of transformed plastics products. In the opening picture, Carlos Moreira, Strategy and Project Planning manager of Think Plastic Brazil, at the summit.
One of the central parts of the event is an international technical seminar. The seminar takes place from November 7 to 8 and has the participation of worldwide renowned professionals, such as Finnish design specialist Susanna Björklund. The Market Intelligence manager of the Arab Brazilian Chamber of Commerce (ABCC), Marcus Vinícius, lectured on the Halal market with tips on trading with Arab companies. The event’s activities are broadcast live in Portuguese, Spanish, and English. An international guide to 2023 color trends and a 2022 international yearbook will also be launched with global sector data and information from members of Think Plastic Brazil.
The event includes an international award for companies investing in their internationalization process – in the current edition; there will also be a new category focused on sustainable design. The buyer project is also part of the schedule and will receive importers for meetings with Brazilian members of Think Plastic on November 9 and 10 at the event’s venue.
In the 2021 edition, the event reported over 13,000 hits from 54 countries, with 130 Brazilian companies participating. To participate in this year’s edition or find more information about the event, visit the 2nd World Plastic Connection Summit website.
