Brasília – In the third week of November, Brazil had a trade surplus of US$ 345 million, resulting from US$ 2.907 billion in exports and US$ 2.562 billion in imports.
The figure points to a recovery of the trade surplus, after the country ran a deficit in the first week of the month (US$ 147 million) and a surplus in the second week (US$ 165 million). The trade surplus so far this month is US$ 363 million.
In November, up until last week, exports totalled US$ 8.789 billion and imports, US$ 8.426 billion. The data were disclosed today (23rd) by the Brazilian Ministry of Development, Industry and Foreign Trade.
The year-to-date surplus through the third week of November this year is US$ 22.962 billion, a figure 4.8% higher than recorded in the same period of 2008 (US$ 21.908 billion). During the same period of 2009, exports totalled US$ 134.668 billion and imports, US$ 111.706 billion.
