Brasília – Month-to-date in July, the Brazilian trade surplus is US$ 1.485 billion, representing a 31% decline over July 2009, and the average per working day is US$ 87.4 million.
So far this month, exports have totalled US$ 13.879 billion, and imports, US$ 12.394 billion. In the fourth week of July, from the 19th to the 25th, the surplus reached US$ 148 million, according to the Brazilian Ministry of Development, Industry and Foreign Trade.
Year-to-date, the surplus is US$ 9.364 billion, as a result of US$ 103.066 billion in foreign sales, and US$ 93.702 billion in foreign purchases. The average per working day is US$ 66.9 million – a decline of 44% over the same period last year.
