São Paulo – Applications are open until January 24 for projects that have significantly strengthened Brazil’s image abroad, boosting inbound tourism. The Embratur Visit Brazil Award is promoted by the Brazilian Tourist Board (Embratur), affiliated with the Ministry of Tourism, in partnership with Exame magazine.
According to information released at the award launch, actions and their results between early November 2024 and late November 2025 will be evaluated. The goal is to highlight initiatives aligned with Plano Brasis, Brazil’s international tourism marketing strategy aimed at repositioning the country globally by showcasing its diversity, sustainability, and authentic experiences, with the aim of attracting more foreign tourists and generating greater revenue for the sector.
The award is divided into eight categories: destination, airline, airport, convention & visitors bureau, hospitality, sustainable or regenerative tourism practice, technological solution for international tourism, and female leadership in promoting Brazilian tourism abroad. The ceremony is scheduled for March 30, 2026, in Brasília, during the Visit Brazil Summit 2026, an event focused on promoting Brazilian tourism internationally.
In the final days of 2025, Brazil recorded the arrival of nine million foreign tourists. This record number exceeded the year’s forecast of 6.9 million international visitors by 30%. From January to November, Argentina was the largest source of tourists to Brazil, followed by Chile, the United States, Uruguay, and Paraguay.
