São Paulo – Vehicle production in Brazil climbed 2.8% year-on-year in H1. The National Motor Vehicle Manufacturers Association (Anfavea) reported this Thursday (4) in São Paulo that 1.47 million units were made in Brazil during H1 2019.
Year-on-year in June, however, output was down 9%. The figures include automobiles, light commercial vehicles, trucks and buses.
Vehicle exports from Brazil were down 41.5% year-on-year in H1, to 221,900 units shipped. June exports were down 37.9% to 40,300 units.
Net job loss was 800 in June from May, to 129,000 jobs. In June 2018 there were 132,800 people employed in the industry.
