Aïnouz was the first Brazilian-born director to win the top prize in the Un Certain Regard section of the Cannes Film Festival in May 2019. Aïnouz gave an entrevista exclusiva à ANBA on the occasion. His Oscar-nominated movie is based on the eponymous book by Martha Batalha.
The Invisible Life of Eurídice Gusmão will premiere September 19 in Northeast Brazil, and October 31 elsewhere in the country. The Oscar nominees will be made public on January 13, 2020, and the award ceremony is slated for February 9 in Los Angeles.
