São Paulo – Nine executives affiliated with the Civil Construction Industry Union of the State of Paraná (Sinduscon-PR) and with the Federation of Industries of Paraná (Fiep) are travelling to the United Arab Emirates next week to visit construction sites and the Big 5, the Middle East’s leading construction industry fair, due in Dubai from November 17th to 20th.
The visit is being organized in partnership with the Arab Brazilian Chamber of Commerce. During the visit, a delegation from the Federation of Industries of Santa Catarina (Fiesc) is also keeping parallel appointments in the Emirates.
According to the vice president of Sinduscon-PR’s Technical Area, Euclesio Finatti, the executives plan on seeing the materials, methods, processes and technologies employed in projects carried out in the Emirates. The delegation leaves on November 13th and returns on the 23rd. They will attend the Big 5 on three days and spend the rest of their stay touring different sites.
“Brazilian businessmen must become increasingly aware of the new technologies used in our industry. They must be aware of new techniques and attain faster execution speeds. The cost of labour greatly impacts upon construction, and we must incorporate new technologies. Thus, we will see the methods they employ and try do adapt some of them to Brazil,” said Finatti.
The vice president of Sinduscon-PR asserted that the delegation is hoping to visit a public construction site, buildings at various stages of progress and popular housing projects.
A Brazilian stand featuring eight companies will be featured in the Big 5. The area is organized by the Arab Chamber and by the Brazilian Export and Investment Promotion Agency (Apex-Brasil). The participants will be the ornamental stone companies Pettrus, Marbrasa, Gail and Summit; ceramic tile maker Ceusa; locks and padlocks company Pado; electrical equipment manufacturer Fame; and the frame company Real Esquadrias.
