São Paulo – Brazil exported the equivalent to US$ 2.106 billion in the first week of august, imported the equivalent to US$ 1.169 billion, and had a positive trade balance result of US$ 937 million.
According to information supplied today (09) by the Ministry of Development Industry, and Foreign Trade, there was a daily average increase of 38.1% when compared to August 2003. There was growth in shipping of the three product categories: basic, semi-manufactured, and manufactured. In comparison to July this year, there was a 3.1% increase in the daily average.
In the case of import, the daily average rose 31.6% in comparison to August last year, and dropped 6.7% in comparison to July.
The accumulated result for the year shows export of US$ 54.404 billion, import of US$ 34.938 billion, and a daily surplus of US$ 19.466 billion.
