Rio de Janeiro – Brazilian Industry Confidence Index, measured by Fundação Getúlio Vargas (FGV), dropped by 1.8 point from February to March. The indicator fell to 97.2 points, in a scale from zero to 200, the lowest level since last December.
The confidence decreased in 14 out of the 19 industry sectors surveyed. The Present Situation Index, which measures the entrepreneurships’ confidence in the present moment, dropped by 1.7 point, down to 97.1 points, after four increases in a row. The main reason was a reduced satisfaction with the current status of demand.
The Expectation Index, which measures the confidence in the future, decreased by 1.8 point, down to 97.4 points, due to the component that measures the entrepreneurships’ optimism about the evolution of the business environment over the next six months.
