São Paulo – Átila Francucci, who works in advertising, will be the first Brazilian judge in Dubai Lynx International Festival of Creativity, to take place from March 10th to 13th, in the United Arab Emirates. He will evaluate advertising items produced in the countries of the Middle East and North Africa.
Francucci is a partner and creation and planning director at agency Lua Propaganda. He has already worked for agencies like Lew Lara, DPZ, Almap, Y&R, Lowe, Fischer and JWT, where he was the co-president and one of the permanent members of the Worldwide Creative Council. With a 21 year career, he has already won 16 lions in Cannes International Festival, in the Advertising, Film, Poster and Media categories. His most recent lion came for an advertising campaign for Kiss FM, last year.
"The Lynx jury is international, but there has never been a Brazilian there,” explains Francucci, who has already been on the Cannes jury twice. In the award in Duabi, he should evaluate ads in the Film, Print, Outdoor, Radio, Craft and Brand Content categories.
Francucci should get to Dubai on March 9th, and will have four days for evaluation of the adverts. He says he did not study the ads broadcast in the Arab world to participate in the event. “The plan is to go with an open mind, and I tried not to see anything,” he said.
He reveals, however, that he has seen items that won the previous editions of the festival and evaluates the material in the region. “Print follows international quality standards. With regard to the aesthetic standards, they are works that could be made here,” he said. "The films, in turn, are not up to international standards. Television has much local influence,” he said.
The advertiser says, however, that there are many foreign professionals going to work in advertising in the region. "It is a market that wants to evolve,” he finished off. The winners of the festival will be announced on March 13th.
Dubai Lynx is part of the Lions Festival, which includes Cannes, in France, Spikes Asia, in Singapore, Eurobest, in Portugal, and Asia Effectiveness Awards, in China.
