Cairo – Today (23), in the third day of the Cairo International Fair, Brazilian bovine and chicken meat continued to be the highlights of the Brazilian stand. The number of people who visited the stand on Friday, a day of rest for Egyptians, saw a significant increase. "The interest shown by importers in our products is truly impressive," said Tamer Mansur, general supervisor at the Brazilian Halal Food Centre (Cibal). According to Mansur, there is a demand for these goods not only from Egyptians, but also from importers from the Palestine and Sudan.
"We established several contacts with people from those countries, but when it comes to Brazilian bovine or chicken meat, business is not restricted to the duration of the fair. Interested parties seek information on how to import these products from Brazil, but the actual deals are closed regularly throughout the entire year," Mansur said.
To the Egyptian importers, Brazilian meat has great advantages in terms of quality and price. "Besides, we would like to benefit from the green light to chicken imports, enacted by the Egyptian government in July last year. Thus, we can import this product, which is enjoying wide acceptance from the Egyptian public, without paying taxes," said Adel Hanafi, representative of the Misr Foreign trade Company.
To Mohamed Abou Ouf, of the Golden Falcon Company, a Palestinian importer, interest in Brazilian products in his country is constantly growing. "I am here seeking raw and manufactured meat and chicken. I am certain that the potential for working with our country is very big. Brazilian products are becoming increasingly popular and well known. Since we import virtually everything, there is a great potential to be explored," he stated. "In addition to the advantages offered by them, our ties with Brazil, which is home to important communities of Arab origin, lead us to increasingly consolidate our approximation with the country, which inspires our friendship and trust," he claimed.
The products of Brasfoods and Peppertrade, which sell spices, also continued to attract the interest and enjoy receptiveness from the public that visited the Cairo Fair today.
Arab Brazilian Chamber
"Many visitors who were here in the first days of the fair returned today seeking further information," according to Zein El Abdin, of the Arab Brazilian Chamber of Commerce. According to him, many importers from the United Arab Emirates, Morocco and even Holland visited the Chamber stand seeking ways of making contact with Brazilian wood exporters. Approximately 180 people visited the Brazilian stand, and 60 contacts were made in the Arab Brazilian Chamber stand.
