São Paulo – Brazil’s National Oil, Natural Gas and Biofuels Agency (ANP, in the Portuguese acronym) has announced this Wednesday (3rd) that production in October stood at 2.98 million barrels of oil equivalent per day (boepd), a figure which comprises oil and natural gas output. It was the all-time high monthly output ever in Brazil. In September, production had amounted to 2.2 billion boepd.
According to ANP data, oil production alone stood at 2.393 million barrels, up 1.5% from September. Year-on-year in October, oil production was up 15.1%. Natural gas production stood at 92.7 million cubic metres, also a record.
Oil production at the pre-salt layer amounted to 607,100 barrels and pre-salt gas production was 20.1 million cubic metres. Combined pre-salt oil and gas output was 739,500 boepd, up 14.1% from September. Roughly 90.9% of domestic production in Brazil originated from fields explored by Petrobras and the bulk of exploration took place in offshore fields.
