São Paulo – CIS, a company that produces solutions for data capture for banking and commercial automation, has just closed a deal with Infonet Services, a company in Tunisia, North Africa. The contract also forecasts sales to other countries in the region like Morocco, Algeria, Libya and Egypt.
According to the business manager at CIS, Eliza Keiko Fusada, the contact was through a search by representatives of Infonet Services on the site of the Brazilian company. "They were searching for suppliers and as soon as they found us they asked for the shipment of samples and started negotiations. This first sale of document readers is just the beginning of a promising partnership," she said.
According to her, Infonet operates as a distributor of banking and commercial automation and has shown great interest in all product lines made by CIS. "From document scanners to ticket printers and barcode and magnetic card readers," she pointed out. "We are very pleased with the business. Despite being a small company, Infonet has a good customer base and has been in the market for eight years," she believes.
According to the manager, nowadays CIS is among the Brazilian companies that are reference in the sector. "We offer solutions in hardware and development of finished components. Apart from that, we focus on the quality of the service and on the continuous search to supply the needs of clients," she says.
In 2008, average monthly production by the company reached 30,000 items, 50% more than that registered in 2007, with 15,000 items made each month. For this year, the target is to keep the same percentage of growth. "We are therefore preparing releases and betting on exports to the Arab markets," stated Eliza. "Despite the global crisis, we plan to invest in greater foreign sales and believe that we have found in North Africa our great buyer market," he finished off.
History
CIS was established in 1984, when magnetic cards started being implemented by banks and companies in Brazil. Over the years, the company has offered the market products made through investment in research and development.
From its laboratories arose several solutions like card readers with telephone interface, magnetic card readers with national ASIC technology (application specific integrated circuits), barcode readers for bill payment and low-cost cheque readers.
The company started selling abroad in 1999, with shipments to Mexico, Argentina, Uruguay, Paraguay, China, Singapore, Malaysia and Australia. In Brazil, the company works with the four main distributors in the sector and is present in the whole of the national territory.
