Brasília – The Brazilian trade surplus (exports minus imports) totalled to US$ 749 million in the second week of the month, and US$ 1.337 billion in the accumulated result for April so far. During the second week, exports reached US$ 2.494 billion, and imports, US$ 1.745 billion. In the first week of April, the surplus was US$ 588 million.
So far this month, exports total US$ 4.245 billion, and imports, US$ 2.908 billion. In the accumulated result for the year, the trade surplus is US$ 4.349 billion, as against US$ 3.922 billion from January to the second week of April 2008. The figures were supplied by the Brazilian Ministry of Development, Industry and Foreign Trade.
This year, up until the second week of April, exports total US$ 35.422 billion and imports, US$ 31.073 billion.
