São Paulo – Headquartered in the municipality of Estância Velha, in the state of Rio Grande do Sul, PW Company – a trading enterprise that operates in nine different segments – from foods to building material – already exports to Latin American countries and is seeking contacts in the Arab market.
“I really empathize with the Arab countries and regard the region’s food and beverage sectors as very welcoming, particularly meats, juice and water,” says Alexandre Pilger, the director of PW Company. “We are looking to develop a partnership that will enable both exports of products from Brazil and Latin America, because we have representatives in Argentina and Uruguay, and imports of Arab products,” he explains. “The aim is to promote the exchange of products and opportunities,” he adds.
Besides, Pilger plans to open a Halal-certified animal feed factory, which should start operating in February 2010. “We are setting up the details and decided to bet on the potential of the Arab market by building a factory capable of meeting the region’s demands,” he explains.
According to the businessman, in 2008 he felt a need to expand and seek new markets. “We already have the Latin American market. Now we are going to focus on the Arab market, and then we will target the European and Asian markets,” he says.
PW Company works with agents in each of the segments that it represents: foodstuffs, animal feed, beverages, clothing, hygiene and cleaning, industrial oils, leather and shoes, industrial residue and construction material.
Pilger explains that he has bold plans for the future. “We want to cater to clients in the five continents by 2014,” he says.
